Colleen Carney

Colleen Carney is an active teacher, collaborator, and performer of music in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan area. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she studied piano with Dr. Ann Chang and composed music for films produced by students at the University's Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film. This past December, Colleen was awarded a master's degree in the Music Industry at the University of Southern California.

Colleen is an experienced accompanist having worked for concert choirs, show choirs, and dance troupes. Under the mentorship of Dr. Jill Timmons, she and her duo-piano partner Melissa Terrall have performed in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Massachusetts, Florida, and Alaska. In 2019, the Carney-Terrall Duo received the $20,000 first-place award at the National Federation of Music Clubs' Ellis Duo Piano Competition. In addition to her work as an accompanist and duo piano partner, Colleen has had experience playing in jazz combos, a variety of chamber music ensembles, and as a soloist with the Jewish Community Orchestra.
