TERRITORIAL YOUTH CHORUS

Upcoming TYC Ministry Weekend — March 27–29, 2026


The Territorial Youth Chorus will gather for our retreat weekend at Camp Mihaska on March 27–29, 2026!
Transportation will be provided via coach buses. Please coordinate with your Divisional Music Director to determine which bus you will ride and how to meet the bus for departure.
 
Important Participation Update:
For this year’s retreat, participants must choose either TYB or TYC so they can make the most of their time within the limited rehearsal schedule.
A God glorifying choir of talented vocalists aged 13-25 from the Central Territory of the Salvation Army.

​​Requirements

  • For qualified vocalists 13-25 years of age (must be 13 by March 27, 2026).
  • Membership is contingent on:
    • Ongoing discipleship to Christ Jesus
    • Being a regular attender of a corps, with a commitment to regularly participate in corps programming.
    • Faithful participation in corresponding corps music sections where available.
  • ​All application and audition materials (if applicable) must be received by JANUARY 30, 2026.
    • ​Returning TYC members are not required to submit an audition.
    • Prospective TYC members who where placed in CMI chorus need not audition.
    • Anyone not in CMI Chorus orWonderland Singers at CMI, or the CTSS is required to submit an audition. 
  • TYC members must attend the following weekend:
    • March 27-29, 2026 - Camp Mihaska 1466 State Route North, Bourbon, MO 65441

Territorial Youth Chorus Application Procedure​

  • All TYC MEMBERS (new or returning) must submit an online application.
  • ALL NEW MEMBERS are required to submit an audition video with their online application unless they have attended Central Music Institute and successfully auditioned into the CMI Chorus or are a member of the Central Territorial Staff Songsters.
  • Returning TYC members are not required to submit an audition. 
  • Roster will be announced on February 13, 2026

Vocal Audition Information

​The vocal audition will consist of the following: 
  • Song of your choice (no more than 3 minutes in length; make cuts if needed). This should showcase your voice at its best, in the range of the voice part for which you are auditioning. 
  • Sing the excerpt of “I Speak Jesus”. Singing in your voice part (Sop, Alto, Tenor, Bass). 
 
All applicants needing to submit a video audition should send a link to their video via e-mail to the Territorial Music & Creative Arts Department at USCMusic@usc.salvationarmy.org
    • Applicants should provide the link to where the video has been securely posted to an online video sharing site (ex. Vimeo or YouTube).
    • NOTE: Due to complications with privacy restrictions, videos posted to Facebook cannot be accepted.
